How to keep a high star rating on YouTube

EDIT: This post has been edited to remove the persons name that I mentioned because of all of the horrible comments Laura made. The person I mentioned should not have their reputation effected by how Laura acts.

Today I tried to put a one star rating on a video on YouTube and could not. Instead the ratings are at 4 stars and are disabled.

What??? Someone on YouTube is keeping a high star rating without letting anyone else rate their opinion on the video… Bad etiquette. It seems to me like this is a way to game the ratings and make a videos rating look good.

So I figured I’d ask about it in the comments if they will allow ratings and my comment is now stuck in moderation. Lets see if I get a response. Well, here is the video I tried to rate:

6 Now Is A Good Moment, Suffering Is In Mind, Monkey Mind

I did not like the video. I wanted to click my opinion by rating the video. I was denied that chance. Unfortunately this is the way YouTube is set up and this user seems like they are gaming the system to keep a high star rating. I call attention to this because I think it is a bad practice.

Even more bad practice, it looks like all of her videos have the same rating scam on them:

Of all the videos of hers I clicked on none let me rate them. All had 5 stars and as you can see only a few ratings on each.

Bad bad bad.

Cube News 1 Shoot

Today Bonny and I had the pleasure of acting in the next episode of Cube Girl!!! It was a blast to shoot with Kim Waldauer and Robert Christophe as well as the other actors, Beth and Grant. They have a very successful show called Cube News 1, if you have not seen it I recommend checking it out right ofter you see these photographs from today.

This is Robert Christophe:

Finally Bonny sitting and looking beautiful:

It is amazing how each New Media Production crew works. We all work completely differently from each other yet somehow it all seems so familiar. Kim and Robert had a script, shot-list, and a really good schedule for the shoot. That is so cool to see in action and how it worked so well.

You can see all the photos I took here

Kristin and Alan Wedding

Yesterday Vu, Bonny and I had the pleasure of shooting my friends Kristin and Alan at their beautiful Southern California wedding. The ceremony was held at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. If you have not been there I recommend visiting just to see how beautiful it is. The Reception was held at the La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, California.

Here is Kristin getting ready with her bridesmaids:

Alan is scolding Aaron Dieppa here:

The car/limo driver and his awesome ride:

Alan and Kristin have a great love story and make a great couple.

This is Kristin’s veil as she entered the church, I really liked the colors of the dress, the veil and the ground:

The very nice Wayfarers Chapel:

It isn’t often that we get a chance to take a photograph of all of the attendees at a wedding; this is everyone on the steps of the chapel with Alan kissing Kristin:

After Alan god bored he took a nap:

Their first dance was amazing, Alan sure could show off!!!

Here is one of the barender’s serving a drink off of an ice sculpture called The Luge. By the way, the service at the La Venta Inn is amazing. All of the people working there were genuinely nice and courteous. It will be a great pleasure to work with them again in the future.

OCF, off camera flash, shot:

And lastly, me with the couple. I am standing straight up in this photograph.

I had the pleasure of being one of the organizers for The Winnies 2007. It was very rewarding to see everyone come out and have a great time.

Luis from LuisMuna.com was our official photographer, if you didn’t get a chance to meet him here is a photograph of him:

You should also subscribe to his blog, which he just set up yesterday at LuisMuna.com. I know he will be posting lots of interesting things in the near future.

Well, I took Luis’ photos from flickr (which he kindly released under a Creative Commons Attribution license) and made a picture video out of them. I also used a slightly lost mp3 that some of you might recognize from Paul Dateh.

Mike Hedge also took many great Photographs at the Winnies 2007, here is his flickr set. And finally, here is the Winnies flickr group you can join and add your photos to.
